Most visitors to Bhutan need a visa arranged before arrival (travellers from India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives follow a separate permit process).
Alongside the visa there’s a one-off US$40 application fee and the Sustainable Development Fee of US$100 per adult per day, with reduced rates for children.
You’re welcome to apply yourself through Bhutan’s official portal, but as your hosts we’re also happy to handle the application for you as part of your stay.
Applications are typically reviewed within five working days, so we recommend sorting this out well ahead of your travel dates.
